Who we are

Onedai is operated by Rudolfo Da Fonseca (ABN 93 833 760 885), based in Western Australia. We provide online tutoring and curriculum-aligned diagnostic assessments for school-aged children. Contact: hello@onedai.com.au.

What we collect, and why

When you use the Onedai free diagnostic, we collect the following information directly from you:

  • Parent or guardian's name and email address. Required so we can send you the assessment report and contact you about a consultation.
  • Phone number. Optional. Only used if you ask us to call you.
  • Student's first name and year level. Used to personalise the report and assessment difficulty. We do not collect surnames, dates of birth, or government identifiers.
  • Assessment responses. Your child's answers to the 16 diagnostic questions, and the resulting scores. Used to generate the report and, if you book a consultation, to inform what we discuss.
  • Technical metadata. Approximate location (country only), browser type, and submission timestamp. Used to detect abuse and improve service reliability.

We do not knowingly collect more information than this. We do not ask for credit card or payment details on the website — payment for paid sessions is handled separately, in person or via secure third-party platforms.

Children's data

We take the protection of children's data seriously. A child's name (first name only), year level, and assessment responses are collected via their parent or guardian, who completes the diagnostic on their behalf. We do not collect data directly from minors, and our website is not designed to be used by unsupervised children. Parents and guardians retain control of all data submitted on a child's behalf and can request its removal at any time.

How we use this information

  • To generate and send the assessment report to the parent who completed it.
  • To notify Rudolfo that a new assessment has been completed, so he can follow up personally.
  • To send occasional emails (no more than monthly) about new diagnostic features or relevant educational content. You can opt out of these at any time by replying to any email or contacting hello@onedai.com.au.
  • To improve the diagnostic itself by reviewing aggregated, de-identified response patterns. We do not analyse individual children's results for any purpose beyond delivering the report and informing tutoring.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for behavioural advertising or any form of profiling beyond what's needed to deliver the service.

Who we share data with

Onedai is built on a small number of trusted third-party services. Your data passes through these providers strictly to operate the service:

These providers operate under their own privacy policies and security commitments. Some have servers outside Australia (typically the United States or European Union). By using Onedai, you consent to your information being processed by these providers, including in jurisdictions outside Australia. We've selected providers with strong privacy practices and contractual data-protection obligations.

How long we keep your data

Assessment records are kept for as long as is useful for ongoing tutoring conversations and re-assessment over time — typically up to three years from the date of last contact. After that, records are automatically deleted unless you've become an ongoing tutoring client, in which case data is retained while the tutoring relationship is active and for one year after.

You can request earlier deletion at any time (see below).

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles and similar overseas regulations (including the GDPR if you're an EU resident), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and your child
  • Correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date
  • Request deletion of your data at any time
  • Opt out of any non-essential communications
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you believe we've mishandled your data

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@onedai.com.au with your request. We aim to respond within seven business days.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS-encrypted connections. Database records are protected by row-level security and access controls. Administrative access is restricted to Rudolfo personally. We do not use weak or shared credentials for any part of the system. In the event of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant authorities as required under Australian law.

Cookies

The Onedai website uses minimal cookies, primarily for essential session and security purposes (set by Cloudflare). We do not use third-party analytics cookies, advertising trackers, or fingerprinting techniques. If we add analytics in the future, we will use a privacy-respecting tool (such as Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics) that does not require cookies or share data with third parties.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as our services evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made. Material changes affecting how your existing data is used will be communicated directly to email subscribers before taking effect.
